Brightline on Track for 22nd of September Debut

Brightline has announced that its service to and from Orlando is set to commence on the 22nd of September following two delays. Originally scheduled to begin on the 1st of September, the company declared on the 7th of August that the launch would be postponed. On the 30th of August, Brightline announced another delay in the service.

Brightline President Patrick Goddard expressed his excitement for the service, stating, "Opening Orlando fulfils our ultimate business model. We have seen incredible enthusiasm from the business and tourism industries eager to travel between Central and South Florida. As we start service to Orlando for peak holiday seasons, I encourage everyone to check calendars, make plans, visit our website or app, and reserve a seat now."

Brightline offers two classes of service on the new route, SMART and PREMIUM. The PREMIUM service provides complimentary drinks and snacks in a dedicated lounge and train coach. One-way SMART fares start at $79, while one-way PREMIUM fares are priced from $149.

The new Brightline trains offer travellers spacious leather seats with plenty of legroom, complimentary high-speed wifi, charging ports at every seat, and multiple food and beverage stations onboard. Guests will also find a designated place for bikes and ample room throughout coaches for carry-on storage.

The new Orlando station at Orlando International Airport boasts an impressive 37,350 square feet and is located in Orlando International Airport's new 80,000 sq. ft. Train Station facility adjacent to Terminal C. The Train Station connects directly to the airport's Parking Garage C, with over 350 parking spaces branded for Brightline guests.

Guests can purchase tickets from guest services or one of several self-service kiosks and check luggage before entering the security screening tunnel through touchless turnstiles. Once through the security tunnel, guests are greeted by an expansive two-story station space featuring world-class amenities, including Mary Mary Bar, serving hand-crafted cocktails and light bites, and MRKT PLACE, a retail experience with convenient in-station shopping for last-minute gifts, sundries, and refreshments.

The service will offer 16 round trips each day, with hourly departures. Trains between Miami and Orlando will be non-stop and take under three hours. The train will stop at all Brightline stations, including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura, for regular service from Orlando to Miami.

For travellers leaving from Orlando to Miami, a train will be available every hour from 5:00 a.m. until 8:50 p.m. the first train arrives in Miami at 8:30 a.m. Those travelling from Miami to Orlando will also have hourly departures from 6:50 a.m. until 9:45 p.m., with the first train arriving in Orlando at 10:15 a.m.

On weekends, the train schedule remains the same, with hourly departures from Orlando to Miami from 5:00 a.m. until 8:50 p.m. and the first train arriving in Miami at 8:30 a.m. For those going from Miami to Orlando, there are also hourly departures from 5:45 a.m. until 9:45 p.m., with the first train arriving in Orlando at 9:15 a.m.
