National Hurricane Center Closely Monitoring Tropical Storm Lee
The National Hurricane Center is closely monitoring a Tropical Storm System in the Mid-Atlantic. Their latest update reveals that Tropical Storm Lee is nearing hurricane strength and is expected to intensify into an extremely dangerous major hurricane by Saturday.
The storm is currently located approximately 1200 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands and is moving at around 14 mph in a WNW direction, with wind speeds of around 70mph. The storm is predicted to strengthen into a Category 4 Hurricane. However, current computer models indicate that Lee is likely to curve away from Florida. Nonetheless, it's still too early to confirm if the storm could track towards Florida and potentially target the state's east coast as we head into next week.
Stay tuned for updates on Tropical Storm Lee as we closely monitor its progress.
