Universal Orlanoo could be welcoming new lands soon

Reports from park insiders suggest that Universal Studios plans to replace The Simpsons immersive ride with a new attraction based on the Pokemon franchise. While not yet officially confirmed, the move would make sense given the popularity of Pokemon games on Nintendo Switch and the success of the Pokemon Concierge on Netflix. Fans of The Simpsons may be disappointed to see the ride go. Still, the potential for a new indoor Pokemon ride arriving in Orlando before 2030 is undoubtedly exciting news for franchise enthusiasts.

The news was first reported by Inside the Magic in July 2023, with Orlando ParkStop noting that plans for a Pokemon-themed area in Japan will be replicated at the Orlando resort. While everything is still speculation, these were the same outlets that first reported plans for a Nintendo-themed attraction coming soon to Orlando. According to Orlando ParkStop, this Pokemon land was initially anticipated to open by 2030, but new rumours suggest it could debut several years sooner than expected.

It's also worth noting that Orlando ParkStop reports that The Lost Continent area at Islands of Adventure could soon be transformed into a Legend of Zelda attraction. With Poseidon's Fury and Sinbad already closed, all that remains in the area is a restaurant.
